Windsor News 8.10.12
Friday, August 10, 2012 at 12:36PM It is another week with a lot going on. Earlier this week, the town signed a contract with Kingsbury Construction of Waitsfield, VT to begin the dredging and gate repair work on the dam. Kingsbury was awarded the contract as a result of their bid that was just shy of $1million. This is a complicated project with many variables. We expect to see the contractor on site by the end of the month.
At a Development Review Board meeting held earlier this week, the state agreed to leave the prison pond dam intact, much to the relief of many who enjoy the pond and surrounding area. The reversal of the state’s decision is an example of how the public process can work. Videos of such meetings as well as other very interesting Windsor focused content can be found at Windsor on Air. http://woa-tv.org/site
As noted below, the Juniper Hill Inn and Windsor will be featured in a two-part program to be aired on FOX TV. While the show certainly can point out warts, we are hopeful that the community will show well to 5 to 8 million viewers. What do they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity?
If you haven’t been up to G 2’s, the new restaurant at the old Stubb and Laura’s location, please stop by and give them a try. A burger and some of their home made fries enjoyed at one of their outside tables is pretty tasty.
Progress continues on The Redhead Bistro, stay tuned for news.
I expect that by next week we will have big news regarding the return of one of Windsor’s best events….stay tuned!
Finally, we have a lot of new subscribers as a result of the note that went out in the tax bill. If you are new, and you find value in this communication tool, please spread the word!
